Welcome to the June Newsletter!

Hi I’m Jo Hollings, one of your committee members. I am looking after AQ memberships at present, this certainly keeps me busy.

When I’m not doing computer work I am either quilting for others or myself, sewing or drawing. Somewhere I fit in housework too. I’m a wife, mother and grandmother of five wonderful grandchildren.

I bought my first sewing machine aged 15. A Bernina 850 in the red case. My mother was shocked! But I sewed on it every chance I got and ended up dressmaking until I found quilting.

As a member of the Napier Arts Community I’ve been included in yearly art exhibitions. This month it’s in Hastings, I will be exhibiting six works, mostly in graphite pencil, and one is in prismacolor pencil.

My favourite medium is Derwent Inktense pencil on fabric, which I’m teaching at Quilt Symposium. Many of you will have seen my work before.

I enjoy teaching and meeting people.
