Hello! Will you all get mad if I say there is only five months till Christmas?! But it’s true, and if you were thinking of making a quilt for someone special as a Christmas gift, now is probably the time to start!
We have a full newlsetter for you this month. First, don’t forget to RSVP or give your apologies for our AGM, to be held in conjunction with Kapiti Coast Quilters exhibition. You’ll be able to see the RED colour challenge quilts and the members challenge – Light it Up. Remember, the closing date for that entry is looming.
We also have a great article about the Auckland Quiltmakers Exhibition by Sarah Ward, and a lovely little video of quilter Kathleen Burford. On that note, if you have a submission to make for the newsletter, starting in August we are now offering a little incentive, keep reading for more info.
Don’t forget to check out the other upcoming exhibitions. We are particularly pleased to support the Tarankai Aotearoa Quilters Regional group with their Threads of Time exhibition at the Percy Thompson Gallery in Stratford. I have visited the gallery and it’s a fantastic space. I’m positive the quilts are going to look stunning on the walls.
I’ve also included a little write up on what the 2023 Book Study Group has been up to. Some interesting work, good discussions and some great information and resource sharing has been going on.
