Aotearoa Quilters would like to thank the many New Zealand quilters who have donated quilts, time and skills to provide quilts for New Zealand Children in need.
I had the pleasure of collecting approx 70 quilts this week from Bobby Duncan who is the co-ordinator for Cosy Kiwi Kids. These quilts will be going to the Hurunui District to the team set up to provide assistance to families affected by the Kaikoura earthquake. The includes a social worker who will ensure the quilts go where they are needed. I have spoken to the person who will be co-ordinating the team response and volunteers assisting in the area ( her first week on the job) she was thrilled to know that the quilts were going to be available for children and young people in the area.
If you are able to assist in any way in helping us transporting the quilts from Palmerston North to Harwarden in Canterbury please let us know. Contact Aotearoa Quilters
