Tutor Introduction:
I am a self-taught textile artist. My background is in science and medicine and I work part-time as a cancer researcher. I am particularly interested in the portrayal of the human form and all parts of the human body. I create realistic textile works, mainly people, portraits and nudes, and more recently I have included some social commentary.
Classes Taught:
I use raw-edge fusible collage techniques and concentrate on photo manipulation and the use of value to portray realistic 3-D images.
I currently teach one class, my 'Hand' class, as it is possible to make a hand and learn the basic techniques in 2 days.
