Hello everyone,
The theme for my month has been music and colour. I have not long returned from a trip to Colombia. The reason for traveling to Colombia was to attend the wedding of the exchange student we hosted for a year in 2010. It was such a privilege to be invited and be part of her wedding.
Colombia is known for its music and colour and we were not disappointed. From the music at the wedding, which went no-stop for over three hours, to the street musicians and break dancers. Colour is everywhere, we visited a part of Medellin known for its graffiti art, went to Guatape, the most colourful town in the world and enjoyed the Caribbean vibe in Cartegena. The take home message for me – you can never have too much colour in your world, just put it all together and enjoy.
A couple of reminders for this month – your member’s challenge entries are due online by 31st March. Further details are included in this newsletter. The next colour challenge in underway too, the theme being colours of summer. See the notice in the newsletter for more information.
This is my last newsletter as Newsletter Editor. From April, Kelly Elliot, who introduced herself in the February newsletter, will be preparing the newsletter. I have enjoyed bringing the newsletter to you each month, and thanks to all of you who have helped by contributing items for the newsletter. I know Kelly will do a great job as Newsletter Editor. Please continue to send in information about your events and activities as we know members love to hear about these.
