President’s Word

CatherineMcDonaldRecently I bought a small book called 101 things to learn in Art School by Kit White. Its a gorgeous little book and only costs about $30. In reading it I kept thinking of quilting and how  the book topics so clearly related to quilting. I’m not  just talking art type quilts but traditional as well. When we quilt we draw a line, our technique has to be good, and the design has to be great. This is the same thing you learn at Art School. Of course Art School does produce both traditional and modern artists so the lessons apply to all.

Over time I will keep picking out a topic from the book and use that as the basis for my comments on lessons around quilting.  I hope you enjoy it and add you own feedback for members to hear and learn from.

Don’t forget to check out Fenella’s Word and other guest blogs as well!
